"a pearl, nearest paradise"

as laying half in the jungle with all the animals and vegetations, a easy to the beach and comfortable shelters, with no road connections, a 4wd take you trough the jungle/beach, enough to explore to other beaches(surfing) or the wild, walkingdistance to the village.

We extended our stay from 3 to 6 nights, than jeffrey in the reception got difficult when I needed some extra supply,s, he was the only mishappening at our stay.

So just wait for the other receptionist, or ask the drivers, waiters or others, they made it a super vacation with good food, (obs. no red meat), service, friendly and relaxing poss. also with yoga massage etc Suberb !

"Experience Costa Rica at its best"

We have had a great stay at the Lodge Ylang Ylang and extended our stay from 2 to 5 nights as we were so amazed by this place. The bungalows are beautiful, the owner is very charming, the French cook prepares delicious dinners, the pool is lovely, nature is amazing - you will not want to leave this little paradise on earth!

"Far from the maddening crowd..."

Ever dreamed of living in your own tree house, in a jungle, near a secluded beach, but with all the comforts of a boutique hotel and the warm hospitality of staying with friends? Then Ylang Ylang lodge is for you too!

Stroll through the jungle with monkeys howling down to a long sandy beach, just the two of you, then walk on the warm, soft sand of this deserted beach, collecting sea shells and photographing crabs, ride gentle waves in warm waters before returning to your lodge for a dip in the pool. Retire to your own treehouse to watch the amazing sunset from the rocking chairs of your private balcony overlooking the forrest and the sea. Relax in your hamac, watch one of your favorite movies on the DVD in your room, then walk down to the main lodge for a gourmet candlelit dinner...It was paradise for us!

Everything at Ylang Ylang is romantic, secluded, the luxury so rare nowadays of being alone amidst quiet beauty, yet pampered...

In addition, our host drove us to an amazing sea lake to snorkle, and to the neighby village to have our four by four repaired, so helpful.
We will definitely return!

"Charming Costa Rica"

We had a great stay at Ylang Ylang Lodge. Very charming with open air 2 floor bungalows. A bit of wildlife might get invited to your bungalow here and there, but dont worry nothing uncomfortable. FANTASTIC chef at night for dinner. Even if you dont stay there, go for dinner! Nice pool and beautifull sunset. Close to Santa Terese but far enough to keep it "exotic" and quiet. Thank you to Olivier for letting us feel at home!

"This was a great place to stay!"

Our family (2 kids 6 & 8) take 1 or 2 vacations a year. This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we traveled around and this was our last stop before leaving. We did have a hard time finding the hotel because we had not read the details that you need to check in at a B&B in town. Once we made it to the resort we were very happy. The views were great, the staff very friendly, plenty of wild life and good food. I would recommend this to everyone! I am hoping to go back with my husband sometime next year for a long weekend.

"Excellent, not for resorters"

Stayed at Jlang Jlang for 4 nights in a beach bungalow ("dome") with gfreind. Very well done, but know what you are getting into. Bungalow was clean, comfortable, fancy relative to other Montezuma digs. Very private and tasteful done for the gorgeous beach/manicured jungle surroundings. The grounds and pool are awesome. Lots of creatures big and small---from the monkey troops that wake you up at 5:30am to the lizards to the parrots to the smaller creatures etc. in the room. The bungalows have no screens, so crabs, ants, etc. can and do come in. Nothing poisonous, the occassional mosquito bite. No AC. The mosquito net kept out the mosquitoes, but it was sometimes hot in the bed as a result. A floor fan would be great, or an ambien. Dinner and breakfast were included (215/night). Great food, although we felt like we had to eat there due to the price and would have preferred to eat in Montezuma more often for variation. Beach in front of the place is not for kids, although Playa Grande is OK (10-15 minute walk) but strong undercurrents at times when waves are big. Don't come here (or to Montezuma) expecting all incusive or Cancun type place. I went fishing with Roberto through one of the places in town, caught 8 mahi mahi, had Ylang kitchen cook one night. Was outstanding. Took the bus to Cabo Blanco one day, well worth it (7 mile ? hike to beach and back). Wish I had brought my snorkel stuff to Cabo Blanco beach. Jlang staff was very nice and helpful.

"Loved it!"

This place is amazing, situated in the perfect location on the coast. There are several bungalow style rooms that make the resort seem surreal. I would recommend this place because of the location (close to Mal Pais, but not in this overcrowded town), and the style of the lodge.
